I'm an International Student, can I study from anywhere in the world?
At the University of Greenwich Online, we are currently accepting applications from students in UK, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Republic of Ireland.
If you are not eligible, please consider our on-campus courses. We are continuously reviewing eligibility criteria and hope to add additional countries next year.
How do I access my online course materials?
All your course materials will be made available online. These will be accessible through your module website once you have enrolled and term begins.
What is the Virtual Learning Environment?
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) will be where you find everything you need for your module.
There will be lots of information within your online course pages but the main things to be aware of are:
- You'll have week-by-week studies guiding your learning throughout the module.
- There is an assessment section, showing exactly what you need to do for each assignment and when they're due.
- You can join all the other students in your module cohort on the module forums to discuss key topics, do any collaborative work, and get a little extra help if you're stuck.
- And it's also where you can find all the online, PDF and accessible formats of your module materials and resources.
What technology or equipment do I need to study online?
To study online, we recommend a laptop or compute, with an up-to-date version of a web-based browse, and a strong and stable internet connection.
Do I need a visa to undertake an online degree from my home country?
You don't need a visa in order to study any of our Greenwich Online courses.
How will Greenwich University support me?
When you study with Greenwich Online, you'll be supported by a dedicated tutor who will guide you academically, professionally, and personally. You'll also be part of an active student community, with access to cohort forums for collaboration and peer support.

Greenwich Online students get access to many of the same e-resources as our on-campus students. This includes access to:

When you need help just get in touch online with any of these services directly by submitting a query via the Digital Student Centre. You don't have to attend campus to access them.
Please note: Online learners do not have access to the Student Union or accommodation service.
When is enrolment for online degrees?
The University of Greenwich Online offers three intakes each year:
- September
- January
- April

What are the admission requirements for online study?
Admission requirements vary depending on the course you choose. For detailed information, please visit our subject-specific pages; Data Science (Online) MSc, Business Analytics (Online) MSc, International Business (Online) MA.

Can I transfer from an in-person program to an online one?
If you have not begun your studies, you can request to change to an online programme by contacting the Admissions Team at aoc@gre.ac.uk. Programme change requests will be considered subject to availability of your desired course at the time, provided you meet all eligibility criteria.
Is there a graduation ceremony?
Yes, at the end of your studies, you will receive the opportunity to graduate at our historical UNESCO world heritage campus.
