
Kafui is interested in social and contextual determinants of health, global health and chronic/non-communicable diseases, especially in the Africa region. She uses quantitative methods to analyse large population surveys. She is also involved in interdisciplinary and qualitative research. Kafui is the principle investigator (PI) of a two-year project recently funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)’s Secondary Data Analysis Initiative. The project is entitled, ‘Explaining Population Trends in Cardiovascular Risk: A Comparative Analysis of Health Transitions in South Africa & England’ and is in collaboration with Dr Annibale Cois of Stellenbosch University. Kafui is also part of an interdisciplinary project funded by the UKRI’s Global Challenges Research Fund on the context of diabetes in Ghana. This is a collaborative study with researchers at University College London, University of Ghana, University of York and University of Melbourne.
