A new course recruiting from September 2024
Computing (Artificial Intelligence) will open to students from September 2024. The course will allow students to study a combination of modules in computing, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Artificial intelligence is a hugely topical and evolving field with big implications for future ways of working.
On the university’s beautiful Greenwich Campus, students will learn to design and develop complex software platforms using industry tools and techniques. Students will become desirable employees in many workplaces, able to use their skills to support companies to manage, streamline or implement processes or systems that are crucial for business. In addition, through gaining expertise in artificial intelligence through the context of computing, students will gain unique insights that will complement their learning in computing and may set them apart from other candidates when applying for graduate roles. This expertise may also open doors for students in careers within the field of artificial intelligence.
An overview of key subject areas
On this full-time three-year degree course, students will delve into disciplines within computing, computer science and engineering. With the University’s “learning by doing” approach, they will build a strong foundation of knowledge in key subject areas and gain essential practical skills such as programming.
Alongside modules such as Systems Development and Web Programming, students will study modules designed to introduce them to the subject of artificial intelligence such as Machine Learning and Human Computer Interaction and Design. Students will learn to apply artificial intelligence theory to real scenarios to solve problems.
Many pathways for your future
Graduates of the course may wish to enter industry in computing roles or enhance their learning by studying a Master’s degree. The University of Greenwich offers a Master’s Applied Artificial Intelligence for Engineering, as well as a number of Master’s degrees in areas of computing and computer science including Data Science.
With the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, students will have the support of a community of academics and researchers, many of whom are actively working in the field of their expertise. The university's support services and fantastic facilities, which include the award-winning Stockwell Street Library, will help you to reach your full potential.
