Develop your project management skills
Eucheria was drawn to studying a Master’s degree in Construction Project Management while working as a Project Architect on a construction site, as she had taken on project management duties and wanted to broaden her knowledge and increase her confidence.
An MSc in Construction Project Management has given me a platform to learn and develop skills in managing projects, understanding both the people-related and technical requirements necessary for the successful management of projects, as well as their organisational and strategic aspects.
An international student, Eucheria chose the University of Greenwich due to its strong reputation for delivering quality teaching across its construction portfolio of courses, and its commitment to supporting students embark upon or enhance their careers. She also appreciated the fact that her course at the University of Greenwich is accredited. Eucheria also praises the inclusivity she has witnessed at Greenwich, a key value of the university.
Give your employability a boost
Eucheria has been able to delve into important aspects of construction project management such as project control mechanisms, resource management, budgeting and cost management, stakeholder management, contract management, and IT applications and information management.
As a University of Greenwich student, she has been able to meet with employers and learn more about the industry and career pathways through careers fairs, while guest speakers, including industry professionals, have given talks covering relevant topics. Eucheria is also a member of the Association for Project Management Student Society, where she has been able to meet other students with similar interests, and she has also been working as a student ambassador, earning money and gaining transferable skills while supporting key events and processes at the university.
The university has a dedicated Employability Team that works with students to help them develop their employability skills and regularly shares new opportunities, and the university welcomes guest speakers throughout the year to share their expertise with students.
Think ahead to the future
Eucheria’s previous role in the construction sector showed her the broad roles available within the construction industry and the many potential elements of a managing a construction project, including problem-solving and conflict resolution. She hopes to take her qualification and the new knowledge she has learned in her degree to future projects as a successful project manager.
The most interesting part of studying at the university of Greenwich has been the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and the networking with other students who share my interest in construction.
