Our printers are being upgraded

Between 2 - 11 September, printers will be unavailable on all campuses. Search for printing support on IT Self Service to help you with the new system.

Between 2 – 11 September, we’ll be upgrading our printers to a new system called uniFLOW online. After the upgrade, you’ll be able to easily print from any device, whether you’re on or off campus. It’s reliable, secure, and simple.

Check the schedule to find out when the printers are unavailable

We’ll be updating each of our campus printers building by building. Please check our upgrade schedule for printer downtime by location (login required).

  • Avery Hill printers: 2 September
  • Greenwich printers: 3 – 9 September
  • Medway printers: 9 – 11 September

Plan ahead if you need to print

On the upgrade day, printing, scanning, and copying will be unavailable across most facilities for the whole day. However, limited printing will still be available:

  • At Avery Hill, one printer will be available on the upgrade day.
  • At Greenwich and Medway campuses, printers will be available either in a building not yet upgraded or in an alternative building on campus.

You can continue to print as usual until the upgrade day. Check the schedule to find out where available printers are located (login required).

How to print on the new printers

After the upgrade, the way you print on campus will change. The new system is simpler and will save you time. For support with printing, please log in to IT Self Service to read our new guidance.

For staff: your device will require a restart

As part of the rollout of the new uniFLOW Online printing system, you may see messages prompting you to restart your device or connect to uniFLOW Online. This is a normal part of the setup process and does not pose any security risk to your device or data.

If you receive a uniFLOW message, please follow these steps:

  1. Restart your device if prompted.
  2. After restarting, follow the on-screen instructions to connect to uniFLOW Online.
  3. If uniFLOW Online doesn’t install automatically:
  4. If you encounter any issues, please contact the IT Service Desk for support.

For students: how to top-up your print credit

You’ll be able to top up your printer credit for the Multi-Function Device (MFD) printers on the new printer portal. Guidance on how to do this will be provided in our printer guidance articles, available on IT Self Service.

To print on plotters (wide-format printers), you’ll continue topping up and using the PrintCredit link until later this year. You can find more information on topping up plotter credit here.

Any money currently on your PrintCredit account will be duplicated in the new system. For any questions regarding credit top-up, please raise a ticket with the IT Service Desk.
