Senior Lecturer Digital Film & TV Production, Jodi Nelson-Tabor said:
“Creative Futures was a massive success. Our film and TV alumni from the past five years shared their success stories around pathways into the creative industries and provided advice to current students thinking about their future career options.”
The audience was made up of current Film and TV and Media and Communications students across all years. They heard about the panel’s experiences and had the opportunity to ask questions around their own future employability.
“It was also a great opportunity for both alumni and current students to expand their networks which will put them in good stead upon graduation,” says Jodi.
This was the first of nine scheduled talks set to take place over the next eight weeks across the Greenwich and Bathway campuses. It is the third year that the talks have taken place.
Jodi added “We are delighted to have such an expansive and diverse network of successful graduates who are working across multiple specialisms – from luxury costume design to virtual production, branded content and advertising, post-production and factual television. Our students are working with major players within the creatives industries, such as Envy, Maverick Media, Final Pixel, Ricochet, Morden Wolf, and Black Magic Rabbit. One alumnus is running his own full service digital agency as the CEO of Cowshed Media employing more than 30 people and working with major brands such as Sony, Foot Asylum, KFC and Fifa.
“This was the launch event of a series of Creative Futures activities for Film and TV students, in addition to their academic training, which prepares them for a confident transition from graduation into professional careers.” Said Jodi.
