Following the recent launch for our new Academic Workload Planning (AWP) tool, we are now sharing the tariffs and guidance document with all academic colleagues. It’s important to highlight that these are live documents and we expect them to evolve as we review feedback during our 2022/23 transition year.
The tariffs have been developed following extensive engagement with colleagues over the last 12 months. We are committed to ensuring that over this transition year, no-one will be worse-off in terms of their workload. If your workload is significantly affected, the AWP team will work with you and your line manager to find a solution.
Ways to Feedback
Whilst we both roll out and further test and refine the tool and associated processes, we actively encourage feedback during this time on all aspects of academic workload (the tool, its tariffs and associated allocation processes).
Feedback form – We have a dedicated feedback form that can be used to provide ongoing feedback, and this will be made available on the staff portal.
Staff workshops - There will also be specific feedback sessions throughout the year and we will be embedding continuous improvement and reflection into the overall process.
AWP Community of Practice/Forum - We will be recruiting a university wide community of practice established for line managers to share learning. This will also provide mechanisms for quick cascade of information.
