AccessAble and University of Greenwich launch new Accessibility Guide

The University of Greenwich is the latest of over 90 higher education providers across the UK to partner with AccessAble; the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled access information.

The University of Greenwich has worked with AccessAble to create Detailed Access Guides to over 130 teaching/meeting spaces and routes across its Greenwich, Medway and Avery Hill campuses.

The Guides are 100 per cent facts, figures, and photographs to help students, visitors and staff plan their journey to and around the university, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

David Livermore, Director of Business Development at AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to launch Detailed Access Guides to the University of Greenwich’s; Greenwich, Medway and Avery Hill campuses. The university have made a significant investment in accessibility. They’ve worked in partnership with us to ensure in-depth access information to the campus is easily available. That is vital for disabled students, staff and visitors and valuable for everybody.

Our initiative is all about removing barriers to higher education and improving the experience for everyone. We welcome the University of Greenwich into our national network of 90+ universities across the country who are committed to including disabled people.”

Julia Attwell, Events Manager – Estates & Facilities Directorate at the University of Greenwich, said:

“This will be a great help as it will offer practical support to students and staff when finding their way around.

“We hope this will help deliver an outstanding student experience by promoting Greenwich to prospective disabled students and students with accessibility issues. Equally, the guides can help current disabled students and staff to get the most out of their time at the university.”

It’s also available via the AccessAble App which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, and provides accessibility information on the go.

The information to the University of Greenwich’s sites joins over 70,000 places already covered across the UK, making www.AccessAble.co.uk a great tool for planning your university experience, a day out or trip away.
