5 days of #ActiveGre: what our students say

As part of our 5 days of #ActiveGre we’re encouraging everyone to be more active and try new things. Here are some top tips from three students who took the plunge…

It's hard to beat a person who never gives up.

Course: Paramedic Science

The balance between studying and personal time is so important, don't let the University workload force you to stop doing an activity that you love. Exercise and friendships are vital for the best Uni experience

Bilal Ijaz, 21

Stop waiting for things to happen, go out and make them happen.

Course: Accounting and Finance

Sport: Badminton

"I have been actively part of badminton, which indeed changed my way towards everything University has to offer. It's just not about sports, it makes you meet new people and learn something new every day.

"Staying active in University is an important part of student life, that's what I believe because being an international student I was exposed to a completely new system and culture but interacting with different students, taking part in some volunteering activities made me feel at home."

Tia Walby, 19

You miss 100% of the opportunities you don't take.

Course: Events Management

Sport: Women's Football

"Exercise can take so many forms, find one that suits you and run with it. Try new things, set new goals but most importantly, step outside your comfort zone and have fun!"
