Athena Swan Focus Groups: thank you to our participants

TLDRoffon

Throughout the early part of this term, our Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team has been conducting focus groups to further develop our understanding of gendered barriers to progression at the university.

The aim of these focus groups was to provide an opportunity for colleagues, both academic and professional services, to share their perspectives in relation to our key priorities and areas of focus.

The Self-Assessment team would like to send a special thank you to everyone who volunteered from across the university to participate in these focus groups. It was great to hear the views and ideas of many passionate staff members.

The experiences shared by our participants has enriched our understanding of gendered barriers, identified areas of good practice and provided a framework of solutions that will feed directly into our five-year action plan.

The Self-Assessment Team are now working to embed these findings into our Bronze application for Athena SWAN, due in early 2024.
