BAME Attainment Gap: A talk by De Montfort University on inclusion in sport

TLDRoffon

On 22 November (1.30pm, Greenwich campus) we'll be joined by Emilie Fairnington and Ryan Carty from De Montfort who will talk about their experiences on creating inclusive enviroments.

The talk is beneficial to all staff and students committed to enhancing inclusivity at our university. Although it is focused on sport, the issues and approaches discussed may be transferred across disciplines and contexts.

Emilie Fairnington, Sport Project Coordinator – Participation and Ryan Carty. Sport Development Officer will give a talk on inclusion in HE sport. While taking part in sport at university, Emilie and Ryan gained invaluable knowledge on how to create inclusive environments, for all students they had contact time with.

Having positively benefited from their experiences as student leaders, Emilie at De Montfort University (DMU) and Ryan at the University of Bolton respectively, they have now transitioned into full time employment at DMU, where they and all other sports staff in the department use their passion for creating inclusive environments to empower students leaders to do the same for all students at the university.

To book a place please email glt-admin@greenwich.ac.uk, by 15 November so we can arrange sufficient cake and refreshments.  Thank you.
