The migration is part of a wider programme of work to modernise our web estate and improve how information is managed and accessed across the university.
While some pages aimed at staff and students may look different, the information you rely on will remain available, with the same content presented in a more accessible, user-friendly and streamlined format.
Our staff and student facing webpage design is changing
The updated system allows us to create webpages that are better organised, easier to navigate and more aligned with the needs of staff and students. It also gives us greater flexibility to manage content for both internal and external audiences and restrict viewing permissions as needed.
The first areas to move across to the new page layout are Information and Library Services (ILS) - you can already see the new design on the Library Support page.
Further IT and Library pages will be migrated shortly, with other university webpages following throughout the remainder of the year.
Update your saved links with new web addresses
Our staff and student facing webpage addresses will change to portal.gre.ac.uk.
If you have bookmarked webpages or links shared in documentation, you will need to update these links as new versions of pages go live. Our team will ensure that old addresses forward automatically to the new pages for a period, so new links can be added as your documentation is reviewed and updated.
As part of the migration, documents, articles and other web content will also be moved to the new platform, but these changes will take place over the coming months.
Information for web editors
Web editors, approvers and authors have been contacted separately with more information about migration plans, training opportunities and any actions required for their areas.
