Avery Hill Community Garden Summer Harvest: Wednesday 26 June

Our garden is full of delicious, organic soft fruit, ready for harvesting and you are welcome to visit anytime to pick your own for free, but please ensure you leave enough for others.

Volunteers will be on hand between 12-1pm on Wednesday 26 June to show you around the gardens including the forest gardens where currently you will find strawberries, raspberries, loganberries, red and blackcurrants, gooseberries, plus all sorts of herbs.

Bring containers if you'd like to take some back to your office or home to make preserves, but please ensure you leave enough for others.

The gardens are behind David Fussey building on Southwood site at Avery Hill and you can visit the space at any time.  There's paths taking you through the forest gardens to ponds, bird watching hides and the wildflower meadow and traditional fruit orchard.

There's seating and table areas so you can eat your lunch or have meetings or just to sit and be lifted by the nature that surrounds you.

Help us maintain the gardens

Volunteers of any gardening capability are always welcome to join us.  We can help you up to identify a potato from a pea and find out how amazingly therapeutic and stressbusting gardening is, to find out more about volunteering head down on Wednesdays 12-1pm or see our webpage.
