This competition has two streams, social and commercial. This year there's more prizes on offer for our entrepreneurs, including two People's Choice awards - everyone is welcome, so come along and vote for who you think has the Best Pitch and Most Social Impact.

Tickets for the event, which will be held on Greenwich campus starting at 5.30pm, are free but booking is essential.

There are two streams to the competition.  A social stream for ideas that aim to have a positive environmental or social impact and a commercial stream, for general business ideas.  This year the prizes include:

  • Greenwich Entrepreneur of the Year (overall winner) £5000 cash prize, and a free IDM course of their choice resulting in a professional certificate worth £1000
  • Enterprise Challenge - Engineers in Business Winner (sponsored by Engineers in Business) £3000 cash prize
  • Enterprise Challenge – Social Category Winner £2500 cash prize, and a free IDM course of their choice resulting in a professional certificate worth £1000
  • Enterprise Challenge – Commercial Category Winner £2500 cash prize, and a free IDM course of their choice resulting in a professional certificate worth £1000

  • People's Choice – Best Pitch (audience live vote to decide) £500 cash prize, and a free IDM online award of their choice to the value of £295

The evening will be a celebration of this year's participants, enterprise across the university and a thank you to all of our mentors, judges and sponsors.  It is open to all students and staff, and we hope to welcome many of you at the event.

What is the Enterprise Challenge?

It's an annual competition that provides mentoring, training and funding for entrepreneurial students who want to pursue an idea.  All students and recent graduates are eligible to apply and don't need to have any prior business experience to take part.

You can find out more about the competition and the i3Centre on their web pages.
