Travelling in London

It is expected that parts of London and the transport network could become exceptionally busy with unprecedented levels of visitors coming to pay their respects.  If you need to travel to and from campus, please ensure you allow plenty of time to do so. For details of travel disruption and road closures, please visit the TFL website.

Welcome Week and on campus services

Our campuses will be open a normal for the start of term, however, we are asking staff to consider rescheduling any externally facing planned events and activities that might not be appropriate during the mourning period and consider practical alternatives where this appropriate.

Wellbeing support

If you have been affected by yesterday’s news, please remember that support is available.

Places of mourning

For those people who wish to pay their respects, you can find details of the official places of mourning on your nearest local authority website (Royal Borough of Greenwich, Medway Council)

State Funeral arrangements

We will publish information about the State Funeral as they become available so please check back on the portal for further updates.

University communications

During this period, as a mark of respect, the university will only communicate essential information through its various communications channels (ie. website, portal, social media). Campaigns, celebrations and promotional activities will be paused unless considered essential.
