TLDRoffon

Join the Women's Staff Network for a series of events around Gender Based Violence.

It is estimated that one in three women will experience sexual or physical violence in their lifetime. The new series of events by the Women's Staff Network will discuss Gender Based Violence covering many and varied aspects of the subject. With the aim of sharing women's experiences, highlighting the experiences of marginalised women and non-binary people, and providing a base from which we can work together to challenge the causes of Gender Based Violence, this series is not to be missed.

You can read more from the Women's Staff Network on their web pages about Gender Based Violence. This page will also share their upcoming events for this series so check back regularly for updates.

Silence the Women, Silence the Suffragettes - 31st March

The first event taking place is  Silence the Women, Silence the Suffragettes on 31st March. Dr Claire Eustance will discuss some of the ways ‘the suffragettes’ were treated during the long campaign in Britain for the vote and women’s rights. Our aim is to help focus thoughts on what can be learned from this history and how we might move forward following the recent shocking events in connection with the tragic death of Sarah Everard.
