TLDRoffon

At Greenwich we are proud of our sustainability achievements and we are asking our students and staff to commit to some small actions that can make a big difference. Pledge now and start taking actions.

Our planet is facing major challenges such as climate change, decreasing biodiversity, exploitation of natural resources and pollution.

Government policies play an important role, but each of us can also make a difference. By changing how we live, we can protect our planet and our future.

Below are a few tips to become more sustainable:

  • Reducing one red meat meal will save 6kg of CO2 emissions per week.
  • Use a reusable cup (or borrow one from Cauli in Greenwich) to reduce unnecessary waste — if everyone did this at UoG we would save over 250,00 disposable cups being thrown away every year.
  • Adjust the thermostat; by lowering 1 degree you can save £75 & 320kg of CO2 per year
  • Sign up to Green Rewards app — learn more about sustainability, earn points by taking part in sustainable activities and win prizes.
