The Menopause Team have been shortlisted in the Most Supportive Partner and Best Trained Workforce categories

The Menopause Friendly Employer Awards were judged by the Menopause Friendly Independent Panel who were looking particularly for the impact achieved within the workplace.

The Most Supportive Partner category saw excellent practice demonstrated by very different organisations ranging from sport to third sector. All clearly cared deeply about not only ensuring their own workplace is menopause friendly but also actively encouraging others to do the same. There were some great examples of reaching professional partners and organisations across their communities in innovative ways designed to resonate with them, break down barriers and provide meaningful support.

The Best Trained Workforce of the Year category was very competitive with organisations clearly demonstrating just how important it is to train their colleagues about menopause in order to create an open and supportive culture. Some organisations shared examples of how they had started their training as a response to what their colleagues were asking while others had spotted a need as part of their wellbeing or diversity and inclusion strategy. What united all of the applications was the deep understanding of how much it matters that everyone is aware and knowledgeable about menopause at work.

The University of Greenwich is proud to have been shortlisted and will now join the other finalists and menopause-friendly employers at the prestigious Menopause Friendly Employer Awards ceremony on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

Gail Brindley, Executive Director of People at University of Greenwich said:

"I'm extremely proud that the University has been shortlisted for these two prestigious awards.

"This is a reflection and celebration of the university's commitment to its work on Menopause, and our wider aspirations to become the best modern university in the UK by 2030.

"My thanks to the Menopause Team for their fantastic work and collaboration which has been instrumental in taking this work forward."
