Me? I Just put British! – A performance project, 31 January 2019

Based on Black women’s experiences of belonging and home making, this performance will explore the contributions they make to British society and how their rights to citizenship have been disregarded.

Six women will use live music and spoken word to bring their experiences of citizenship to life, with audience participation encouraged and a thought-provoking discussion taking place after the performance.

The event takes place 31 January, 6:30pm-8pm at Rich Mix in Bethnal Green and tickets are £7-£10. For more information and to book a ticket, please visit the event page.

This performance project is inspired by  two years of collaborative research with artists, social scientists and human rights organisations working with migrant families on the question of 'Theatre as citizenship practice'.

It has been jointly Produced by the University of Greenwich, ESRC/NCRM and the PASAR Research and Praxis centre and Directed by Erene Kaptani from the university.
