An image of Mary Seacole (1805-1881), who was known for helping sick and wounded military personnel during the Crimean war, and who we have a building named after at Avery Hill campus, worked well, and gave us a chance to share that we've been passionate about nursing since 1890. We still are today, and are proud of our students, staff and alumni who have been on the front line dealing with Covid-19.
Our Communications Team enlisted the help of colleagues from across the university and after a practice run were set for the big day, or rather the evening. In August, it doesn't get dark enough until gone 9pm.
Thank you to Matthew Barton and Tim Putnam in the School of Design, and to Neil McKeown, Tom Bacon and Bernardo Bacciardi in Communications and Recruitment for working together to make this happen.
