Open Lecture: Professor Mary Stuart CBE, Vice-Chancellor, University of Lincoln, 5.30pm, 11 April

Prof Stuart's presentation will focus on a vision for Higher Education as whole communities between staff and students working to enhance and develop the future of their universities, come along to hear how Lincoln have developed its practice to create one community of scholars at different stages of their learning, and more.

We're pleased to welcome Prof Mary Stuart CBE, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln and Guardian University Awards Inspiring Leader 2018 to Greenwich for the last EDU Open Lecture of this academic session.

Prof Stuart will speak on student engagement and partnership, her presentation "Universities as whole communities: Student and Staff working for their university community" will focus on a vision for Higher Education as whole communities between staff and students working to enhance and develop the future of their Universities.

It will argue that Universities need to take responsibility for their own values and mission beyond the current policy environment they are located within and ensure that their values are at the forefront of their practice and fit for purpose in the 21st century.  It will highlight the case study of the University of Lincoln, UK which has taken this perspective to its heart and developed its practice to create one community of scholars at different stages of their learning.  It will draw on other examples from the past and other institutions.
