Mental Health First Aid Training for all staff who support students and/or who work in key roles

Training dates are available to book between November 2019 and March 2020. All Academic and Professional Services staff who support students and/or work in key roles should book onto an appropriate course if they haven’t done so yet.

It's our wellbeingAs announced in June our Mental Health First Aid training provides you with access to appropriate mental health training, so you can step in and support a person who needs assistance.

Following successful pilots, we have launched a programme of accredited by Mental Health First Aid England.

The programme will run through to March 2020, and is one of the deliverables of the university's Health and Wellbeing strategy responding to feedback from staff in the 2018 My University My Voice staff survey.

Details of the training available and how to book

  • A two day course for Academic Programme Leaders and Professional Services staff who directly support students and those in key roles with responsibilities for student and/or staff wellbeing support.
  • A one day course for Academic staff and faculty Administrators
  • A half-day course for Professional services staff, particularly those staff in contact with students.

Because of the number of sessions the staff development hub is not being used.  

Human Resources will shortly circulate the dates each course is running, to book please email lnd@gre.ac.uk stating your first and second choice.  HR will try to accommodate your first choice request where possible and will send you an Outlook invitation to the course you have been booked on.
