My University My Voice 2018: Results

TLDRoffon

Our staff engagement score has increased by 4% since our last staff survey in 2015. Thank you for your honest and constructive feedback in what is a challenging period for higher education.

The survey closed in mid-November and in our next steps communication we said we intended to share the results with you in the New Year.  You will have seen in the weekly Interim Provost update that the results are already available and that our university staff engagement score is 57%.

Our engagement score compares well with Alliance and other similar London universities and has increased by 4% since our last staff survey in 2015. Two engagement questions scored high above the sector average. These were:

  • there is good co-operation between teams I work with and
  • the university supports my health and wellbeing in a way that suits me.

There are also some priority areas which we need to work on together to improve. HR will be sending faculties and directorates their area results in the New Year.  We will work with leadership teams to assess how the issues raised by staff can be addressed, and ideas will be taken forward to the Leadership Forum at the end of January 2019.

It is important that we to take time to think carefully about the results, and to work with staff to determine what can be done to enhance the staff experience at Greenwich. We intend to share our university engagement report with improvement activities in Spring 2019.
