Our plans for welcoming you back to campus in September

TLDRoffon

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you back to campus for the 2021/22 academic year and are pleased that the covid restrictions are lifting from 19 July. We want to share our plans for Term 1 with you to ensure that you have a great Covid-Safe experience at university.

We will deliver our teaching, learning and student activity for the 2021/22 academic year on campus as much as possible. Here are our plans for giving you a great experience:

  • We’ve extended our Welcome Week to two weeks – from 13 to 24 September - to give you extra time to settle back into life at university. The Greenwich Students’ Union will also have a full programme of events for you.
  • From September, you will be able to take part in a full range of activities (on campus and online) including academic skills sessions on how to use our online systems, and social activities, like joining a sports club or cultural society. We’ll share a full list of activities for you later in the summer.
  • If you are unable to join us on campus, we will continue to provide online learning - our experience over the last year has meant that we have some really good online developments. Your Programme Leader will advise you if this applies to your course.
  • If you can't join us (for example, because you are isolating, or because of illness, have caring responsibilities or inability to get to the UK) our on campus sessions will also be available online. Where sessions are delivered online our preference will be for these to be live.
  • We will deliver lectures, seminars and practical sessions within our timetabled hours of 9am – 9pm, Monday to Friday, during term time.

Our campus facilities such as cafes, libraries, campus accommodation, social spaces and gyms will all be open for you to enjoy and will follow the latest Coronavirus advice and guidance.

While our plans may need to change if there are updates to Government guidance, we are confident that we are ready to manage any changes quickly and we'll continue to provide access to testing facilities as part of our Covid-Safe plans.

There are lots of great reasons to join us on campus in September, and your faculty team will provide you with a subject specific update shortly. If you have any questions please get in touch with your faculty team.
