School of Design becomes part of WDO, scholarship winners, highly cited researchers and award-winning honey

We have lots of good news and successes to share from across our university community, and this post provides a round-up of what's making us #ProudToBeGre.

School of Design becomes part of WDO

Well done to the School of Design, which is now part of the World Design Organization (WDO). As part of the WDO, the School now has the opportunity to connect with fellow WDO members both in the local region and internationally.

The School of Design has the opportunity to position itself as a leader in design and innovation, while showcasing our brand in global markets, align with other well-established brands and contribute to community-building initiatives.

“The World Design Organization (WDO) is a globally recognised non-governmental organisation that aims to promote and advance the discipline of design and its power to enhance the economic, social, cultural, and environmental quality of life. I am really excited that our application was successful, and from January, the School of Design is the latest member of the WDO, taking full advantage of some of the exciting opportunities for students and staff (research and KE) that they offer to us, including endless the opportunity to connect with fellow WDO members both in our region and internationally.

The School of Design focuses on diversity, inclusivity and sustainability, and our graduates can be the first generation to work collaboratively to respond to SDGs through Design to end extreme poverty, to end injustice and inequality, and improve climate challenges.” - Professor Anastasios Maragiannis, Head of School of Design.
