#ProudToBeGre: Celebrating your achievements

We have lots of news and successes to share from across our university community, and this post provides a round-up of what's making us #ProudToBeGre.

FES Research Symposium

FES Research Symposium

In June, the Faculty of Engineering and Science held its annual Faculty Research Symposium. The Symposium served as a platform to highlight the invaluable contributions of the faculty's Early Career Researchers, alongside an engaging "Women in FES Research" panel discussion. This included a talk from keynote speaker Dr Shini Somara, whose candid insights shed light on the unique challenges faced by women in the realm of STEM.

ISE Conference participation

The University of Greenwich participated in a panel discussion alongside representatives from Forage and Clifford Chance at the ISE (Institute of Student Employers) Conference in Manchester, where they provided insights on social mobility in higher education.

The collaboration between employers and institutions of higher education is imperative in order to facilitate a smooth transition for students from the learning phase to the earning phase. It is crucial that these supportive activities are integrated into the curriculum. We are pleased to add that University of Greenwich is a pioneer in incorporating those activities within the curriculum.

Well done to Raluca Marinciu for participating in this panel discussion and representing the university.

Charlotte Jeavons receives FPH award

In June, Charlotte Jeavons was awarded Honorary Membership of the Royal College of Physician's (RCP) Faculty of Public Health, a prestigious award in the field of public health. She was nominated, seconded and elected for this award, which is given to those who have made a sustained and significant contribution to public health.

Congratulations on this notable achievement, Charlotte!
