Who will design
tomorrow's cities? Possibly Year 12 students at a free summer school at the University
of Greenwich.
The five-day programme starts on Monday 29 July and will see students working with a team of landscape architects from across London on ideas for their city.
Together they will develop designs for London through drawing, modelling cities and drafting manifestos.
Ed Wall, from the university's School of Design, says: "The summer school recognises that decisions made about the future, such as responses to the climate and ecological emergency, increasing urban inequity and impacts of Brexit, will be borne by today's young people.
"This will be a chance for them to question the cities and environments in which they live through creative collaborative approaches."
The event is free, with lunch provided. It will take place at the university's Stockwell Street building (pictured). It is organised by Advanced Landscape and Urbanism at the University of Greenwich, working with Sayes Court, supported by the Mayor's office, and in partnership with leading design practices LDA Design and AECOM.
