All students are welcome at this event to find out why refugees come to the UK. You'll also gain a further insight into how the UK system works regarding refugees.

Speakers at the conference will include: 

  • Dr Elena Vacchelli - Associate Professor in Sociology, University of Greenwich 
  • LowKey - Musician/Songwriter 
  • Emma Williams - CEO at Student Action for Refugees 
  • ZamZam Ibrahim - Vice President, Society and Citizenship at the National Union of Students 
  • Ahmad al-Rashid - Formerly at UNICEF Iraq
  • Mohamed Yahya - Musician (who will be performing)

The event is free, but please reserve your place on Eventbrite, and takes place on Monday 29 October, 6-8pm at the Lower Deck in Dreadnought, Greenwich campus.

Attendees working towards their Greenwich Employability passport will also receive 10 Passport Points for attending.
