Greenwich University makes waves breaking the Row Britannia goal early

TLDRoffon

Two days ahead of the finish date - Friday 13 March, to coincide with Sports Relief - we have broken the target distance of 2020 miles.

Jagdeep with Phil PackerIn a oar-some joint university effort, students and staff across all three campuses have pulled their way to 2,060 miles, leaving the original target in their wake. We seem to be the first university to complete the challenge.

Together, university students and staff have rowed more than 1,000 miles, so thank you to everyone who has taken part.

Star rower, Jagdeep Matharoo, pictured here with Phil Packer MBE who created Row Britannia, has been a man on a mission and rowed 569 miles in the last two months.

Steven Deere, lecturer in evacuation and circulation modelling with the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, is a member of the Greenwich based Globe Rowing Club. He and his fellow club members added a fantastic 471 miles to our total.

You can still support our Row Britannia efforts, and show your appreciation to those who put the hard work in, by donating to our Sports Relief Row Britannia Just Giving page. Every penny or pound donated will go a long way to helping others through Sports Relief.
