The Staff Awards 2022 were a huge success. Thanks to everyone who made it possible by submitting their nominations. There were so many kind words shared about each other that we wanted to celebrate and recognise your thanks.
What can I say about Cecile (Laval)! She is amazing - and she is absolutely kicking it as a Head of School. She is one of the most supportive people I have ever had the opportunity to work with and I am very sure that I speak for others when I say this.
Jess (Swan) is a great leader. She inspires, she leads, she gives us hope, she elevates us, she's firm when required, she nurtures, she thanks and rewards, she is fun, she knows education better than anyone and shares that knowledge, she's patient. Above all, she drives the highest standards and student focus.
Rosie (Fean) stepped into leading the women’s network with courage and enthusiasm. She speaks truth to power and challenges the status quo. Those are easy things to describe, but difficult things to do...Rosie’s tireless commitment to intersectionality and equity has driven an approach to EDI within the Women’s Network that welcomes all to the debate and identifies actions for each to take.
Sian (Moore) is an excellent leader, inspirational academic and always encourages her team for the better. She is inclusive and sees the real potential with everyone's work.
I consider it an honour to work with someone who is dedicated to her job and an inspiration to both staff and students. Tania (Struetzel), in every meeting and conversation I have with her, she always tries to look at things from the student perspective and wants to ensure that we have collaborated with all relevant stakeholders on campus.
I have never had such an incredible manager. Since my first day and throughout, Vikki (Wood) has been such a support and has set aside her time, during a very busy COVID period for the H&S team, to help me start my new role. COVID was a very busy time for everyone but Vikki has gone above and beyond to ensure that everyone at the University, staff and students, were all fully supported and aware of every measure that was put in place to protect everyone.
Aaron Tan is a great mentor, and he has organised several coaching sessions that focus on teaching and presentation techniques. These sessions are helpful and inspiring.
Caroline (Troy) is a very dedicated, friendly, and professional person. She is a very skilled communicator who always listens with full attention and focus.
Sven (Kuenzel) has provided me with a lot of guidance about specific working practices at Greenwich and he made sure I felt part of the team.... Sven came up with many suggestions that I could then try out myself. This has allowed me to be much more productive as a staff member.
