There’s still time to get involved with your Student Conference

You can contribute to The Student Conference in three ways, including by sharing posters you have already created as part of your coursework. Register your interest by Monday 6 February to get all the support you need.

This year, the conference will focus on life beyond university, allowing you to project and envision your life in the future, and set goals and plans for a “Future You”.

This is a conference 'for students, by students'. You can contribute to the conference in three categories, as a group or individual. Presentations can take place live online, or they can be pre-prepared or recorded.

This year The Student Conference focuses on Future You, along its two main themes:

  • Theme 1: Future You (Professional)
  • Theme 2: Future You (Personal)

There are 3 ways you can get involved

Presenting at conferences is a great experience and this is your perfect opportunity to get started. You’ll gain insights and develop skills to write and deliver a presentation. More than that, you will find yourself becoming a part of a network of academic and professional practitioners. You’ll get help and advice to develop your ideas and find some like-minded fellow students in the process.

To share your work at The Student Conference, fill out this form by Monday 6 February 2023 for one of the following categories:

1. Join as a Panel Member (individual)

If you have an interest in one of the subject areas below, this is a great way to get involved. Panel members are asked to give a 10-minute talk, including time for Questions and Answers, on one of these topics:

  • What will life look like in the future?
  • How can you prepare for the jobs and skills that will exist in the future (that do not exist now)?
  • What does a “future you” look like?
  • What lifestyle do you see yourself living?
  • Planning and preparing for the future you, what opportunities do you hope to encounter and what challenges may you encounter and why?'

2. Submit your work as Exhibition Contributions (individual or group)

We know many of you have created posters, displays and other presentations as part of your coursework. Submitting them as Exhibition Contributions gives you the opportunity to share them with a wider audience, so we can learn from each other and celebrate your creativity and innovation. We welcome individual or group submissions.

3. Share your Student Journey Video bytes (individual or group)

Your video submission could feature your learning experiences, your student journey or anything inspirational that you’d like to share with other students. Videos should be up to 3 minutes long and can be in any format e.g. MS Stream, Panopto, TikTok, YouTube or MP4. Submissions should be provided as a link. We welcome individual or group submissions.

All work will be appropriately referenced, so please include a short description of yourself or your group and what the work represents.

Develop your skills as a student presenter

You will be supported throughout with help and advice from our Academic Support Team to develop your ideas and from the like-minded fellow students you will meet as part of the project. More than that, you will find yourself becoming a part of a network of academic and professional practitioners.

Here are some other benefits to look forward to:

  • Professional Presenter Profile
  • LinkedIn Recommendation
  • Greenwich Employability Points
