TEF Gold

TLDRoffon

The university has been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023 (TEF) which assesses universities in teaching and learning.

We have today been awarded a Gold rating overall, which means that the student experience and student outcomes at the university are typically outstanding.

I’m absolutely delighted to receive the highest overall rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023. At the University of Greenwich we work hard to ensure that our students have the best possible experience when they are with us, and that our work to support you and give you the best teaching and learning experience sets you all up to succeed in your chosen career paths. To have this external recognition and validation by the Office for Students, an independent regulator, is wonderful news.

Professor Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor and CEO

The TEF assesses and rates universities and colleges for excellence. Universities and colleges that take part in the TEF receive an overall rating as well as two underpinning ratings – one for the student experience and one for student outcomes.

In Greenwich the two underpinning ratings were Gold for Student Experience and Silver for Student Outcomes.

The outcomes from TEF 2023 will last for four years from September 2023. You can read more about the TEF on the OfS website.
