University gym membership refunds and extensions

TLDRoffon

With the Government’s latest advice, it looks unlikely that gyms and other sports facilities will reopen for some time.

If we are able to reopen, most students are unlikely to return to university until the start of the new academic year, so we will be refunding a portion of your gym membership. Students who have a valid membership in a university gym will be issued with partial refunds.

Students who bought annual memberships will receive £50 for Greenwich & Avery Hill and £30 for Medway, for those who bought shorter memberships we will refund on a pro rata basis.

Staff who have memberships will have their memberships extended when we reopen.

If you bought your membership online through the webstore, please email store@gre.ac.uk, with your order number.

If you bought your membership in the gym, please email sports@gre.ac.uk with your name, student ID number and a photo of the front of your membership card, with the details (especially your name and the expiry date) clearly visible.

You will need to make sure that your bank details are up to date on your portal so that we can refund you. We cannot refund you if these are not up to date.

Refunds may take up to two weeks to process, so please don't contact us again until after that period of time.

If you are coming back to study next year and would prefer to have your membership extended rather than refunded, there is no need to do anything, just come and see us in September. Please don't email us to tell us that's what you're doing.
