Today Student Minds welcomed the first 32 universities into this programme. We're really pleased to be part of this programme and working on a whole-university approach to mental health and wellbeing.

We are excited to be one of the first members of the University Mental Health Charter ProgrammeBy joining the University Mental Health Charter Programme we are demonstrating our commitment to continue to improve support for student and staff mental health. The Charter framework provides a set of evidence-informed principles to support universities across the UK in making mental health a university-wide priority.

We know how important this is and the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted this even more, therefore it's vital that we continue to build on the work we have done so to keep the health, safety and wellbeing of our whole university community our priority.

It’s really important to me that we have joined the University Mental Health Charter Programme as the health and wellbeing of our students, and our whole university community, is my priority.

I know that our teams here at Greenwich will continue to work hard to support our students' mental health and we look forward to working together as part of this programme.

Professor Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor

The University Mental Health Charter has been developed with thousands of staff and students, and in partnership with leading higher education organisations.  Student Minds spoke  to 360 students and staff from around 181 diverse universities and organisations and 2274 staff and students shared their thoughts and ideas in online surveys.  The Charter document was peer reviewed by a range of academic, clinical and research experts and published in December 2019.
