Through the partnership, work will be done to influence and deliver Apprenticeships and Traineeships employability programmes while promoting social innovation.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jane Harrington said:
“University of Greenwich is committed to creating new opportunities and changing the lives of our talented students. We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with The Adecco Group to ensure our student success and enhance their employability prospects. By working together, we will give our amazing group of students a chance to engage with a major global player and industry leader and I know everyone will benefit.”
The first collaborative venture is the schools and colleges outreach project – Creating Brighter Futures.
This collaboration marks an exciting expansion of the university’s pre-16-year-old widening participation work and will also target year nine (13–14 year olds), and year ten (14-15 year olds). This will increase the university’s capability to deliver on ambitions to raise attainment, reaching 5000 new pre-16s students by 2023.
The partnership will deliver a series of workshops that explore essential skills to inspire curiosity, develop confidence and enhance the capacity to be able to pursue this curiosity through the essential skills covered.
- Connected futures (Marketing and Communication)
- Thriving futures (Business Administration - Finance and Operations)
- Sustainable futures (Construction, Engineering and Green Jobs)
- Creating futures (Graphic Design, Web and Game Design, Spatial Design)
Greenwich alumni will be supporting The Adecco Group in delivery of sessions as co-facilitators/guest speakers.
This partnership will be celebrated at a conference in February 2023 discussing social mobility and the future of the world of work.
