The slides from the VC Campus talks are available

If you weren't able to come along to one of the sessions, there's also a recording you can watch. The slides from the TEF-REF Forums, are also included in this article.

The Vice-Chancellor provided an update on each campus on the current state of the university and the slides and recording are available to view, along with the questions raised at these update sessions.

The update covered:

  • Recent achievements (2:25*) which include the launch of UGIC, opening Dreadnought, positive improvements in the NSS and an increase in research income,
  • our finances, which are sound (11:45).
  • the REF and TEF, the national measures of academic success (28:31),
  • our new Academic and Student Experience Strategy (36:32) - this document is also linked from the portal home page, and
  • our key goals for 18/19, which include continuing to improve student experience and retention (52:23)

* the times in brackets refer to the timestamp in the recording.

Since these campus talks our Deputy Vice-Chancellors have also held a TEF-REF forum for staff on each campus. The slides from these sessions are also available, and cover the updated TEF methodology and timeline, the GREAT18 submission and developing the REF Code of Practice.
