Continuing our celebration of how our staff and students are working to support society, both locally and worldwide.

Saloni Parikh (pictured), a scientist working seven-day weeks in the fight against Covid-19 has graduated with a first in Applied Biomedical Science.  Saloni is a trainee biomedical scientist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, as well as working as a pharmacy dispenser. During lockdown, this meant seven day working weeks to tackle all her commitments.  Well done Saloni.

Dr Wenjie Cai is part of a group of researchers who have been looking at how the technology used during the enforced working from home (EWFH) during the pandemic has changed the tools and culture of team collaboration.

The study, with researchers from our university and the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), the University of East Anglia (UEA), and Phone Free Day, is the first international empirical study of its kind. The article, "An Affordance Perspective of Team Collaboration and Enforced Working from Home During COVID-19", has been published in the European Journal of Information Systems.

Charlotte Jeavons, a Senior Lecturer for Public Health in the School of Human Sciences and Council member of the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry (BASCD) has led a working party to deliver a health promotion campaign focusing on oral health and dental care during the social restriction on place to limit the spread of Covid-19.
