Biomedical student. Sports enthusiast. Fashionista.

Evelina tells us about the campus experience studying Biomedical Science at Medway.

Originally from Lithuania, Evelina Lucinskaite is studying for a Biomedical Science degree. Away from the books, she enjoys volleyball, badminton, football and table tennis. She can also be found injecting flair into her wardrobe – every detail matters to this fashion-conscious student.

Evelina completed a foundation year at Greenwich Campus before moving to Medway to focus on biomedical science: "London is something that everyone has to experience once in their lives, but I wanted to transfer from a big, big city to somewhere that felt more like a campus experience. The University of Greenwich offered the best choice as Medway Campus was close to London, but not London."

Evelina now lives in student halls: "It's really convenient. I'm two minutes from all the teaching buildings. I'd recommend every single person who is going to this university apply for student accommodation because that's where you meet all your friends."

Her biomedical science degree has given Evelina the chance to get plenty of hands-on experience: "Probably the most challenging and enjoyable part of my course is the laboratory work. I spend about six hours a week in the lab."

Evelina describes herself as very ambitious and, although she isn't certain where the future will take her, she's putting in the hard work. As a Medway Campus officer, student representative for her programme, and senior student ambassador, she's got a lot to keep her busy.

She says all new students should try to get the most out of university life: "The Students' Union runs 'give it a go' sessions for people who want to take part in some activity but aren't sure what. It gives a chance to do something like archery, tag, basketball, volleyball - anything! These are fun sessions where you can just try something new and meet new people."
