This activity takes place online As part of The University of Greenwich’s Green Week (events listing here), we are inviting students and staff to join an online presentation and discussion about climate anxiety. This will be taking place on Friday 18th of November 4-5pm and you can join the event here. Sophie Burne, from the university’s Sustainability Team, will host the talk with the aim of helping us better understand what climate anxiety is and how we deal with the many sustainability challenges we face, particularly those relating to global heating. The talk will cover and discuss some of the feelings we will share relating to climate anxiety as well as some key research that is currently taking place. The talk will also explore how we can find ways to cope with this anxiety; from taking action and making changes in the world around us, to learning and finding ways of (re)connecting with communities and our natural spaces. We hope you can come along and tell your friends about this event. Whether you want to come and just listen or are keen to contribute your thoughts, this is a space for everyone. We hope that this session will facilitate in fostering a university community that wants to come together and support each other.
