Dr. Abdul Ali is a Senior Lecturer specializing in Operations and Supply Chain Management and serves as the Programme Director for the MA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Greenwich. With an extensive background in academia and leadership roles within various UK higher education institutions, Abdul's academic journey has been marked by significant contributions.

Prior to his current role at the University of Greenwich, Abdul served as a dedicated faculty member at the University of Northumbria-London Campus (QA). His academic journey also took him to the University of Bedfordshire, where he excelled as a Visiting Lecturer and Researcher at the Business and Management Research Institute (BMRI). Additionally, Abdul held positions as a Visiting Lecturer and Dissertation Supervisor at QA within the University of Ulster London Campus, London Metropolitan University, and Roehampton University London.

Abdul holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management, with a focus on the impact of collaboration on sustainability, encompassing environmental, social, and economic aspects within the food supply chain. His research and teaching interests span across various areas, including operations, supply chain, logistics, sustainability, green operations, supply chain, food waste circular economy, and digitalization. His dedication to the field is reflected in his recognition as a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (Advance HE) and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE). Additionally, he actively participates in professional organizations related to operations, logistics, supply chain management, and overall management, holding the title of Chartered Member (CMILT) at the Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and serving as a committee member for the CILT London Region.

Abdul's primary research interests revolve around sustainability, green/environmental supply chain management and logistics, circular economy, supply chain collaboration, lean Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 within supply chain management. He has contributed to the academic community by publishing peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as presenting his work at national and international refereed conferences. Abdul also actively participates as a reviewer for various prestigious journals in his field.

Responsibilities within the university

Programme Director in MA Logistics and Supply Chain Management Programme. Mentoring colleagues in Associate Fellow and Fellowship applications. Teaching in Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, dissertation coordination and supervision at the PG level and other departmental responsibilities as a member of the faculty.
