John is a doctoral researcher at the University of Greenwich Business School, supervised by Dr Lianfeng Quan, Dr Vicky Lee, and Dr Keffei You. His research investigates systemic liquidity fragility within mobile money agent networks, with a specific empirical focus on evaluating the economic trade-offs between cost efficiency and operational risk in digital clearing infrastructures across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to beginning his PhD, John built a strong professional foundation in the Nigerian financial sector, working as a Credit Risk Analyst across several consumer lending companies. Driven by a deep passion for financial inclusion, he spent a year working with a fintech startup in southern Nigeria, focusing on developing and providing alternative digital payment channels to underserved rural residents. Furthermore, he actively engages in industry innovation, having been part of a team that secured third place in a competitive ideathon with a novel financial inclusion concept.
John holds a BSc in Management and an MSc in Financial Management and Risk, graduating with Distinction.
