Micaela Erlauer

Micaela Fernández Erlauer is an ESRC-funded PhD researcher in Economics at the University of Greenwich's School of Accounting, Finance and Economics’ Centre for Political Economy, Governance, Finance and Accountability (PEGFA) . Her doctoral research examines the interactions between care work, fiscal policy and balance of payments constraints through a feminist macroeconomic perspective, with a comparative focus on countries in the Global South and North.

Prior to beginning her PhD, Micaela worked as a researcher at Fundar (Foundation for Argentinian Development), where she conducted research on fiscal policy, feminist macroeconomics and economic development. She has also undertaken research and consultancy projects with organisations including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Women's Budget Group (UK), Walking the Talk, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, and the Iran Gender Responsive Budgeting Forum.

Her research focuses on feminist macroeconomics, gender-responsive budgeting, fiscal policy, taxation and financing for gender equality. She has published policy reports and academic work on these topics and has presented her research at international conferences including IAFFE, the Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM), and the International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4).

Alongside her research, Micaela has extensive teaching experience in economics and public finance at the University of Buenos Aires, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella and Universidad Nacional de Avellaneda, as well as experience delivering professional training on gender-responsive budgeting for governments and international organisations.
