Nathalie’s drive, ambition and passion for politics was born in her native Sweden, where she was involved in student politics from an early age.
“I found that the key to doing something well is to know everything about it, I don’t like not knowing what I’m talking about.”
There have been many highlights over the past three years including SHAG (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance) Week in 2018, the university’s participation in London Pride and being elected one of the Students’ Union’s delegates for the 2019 NUS National Conference in Glasgow.
Such initiatives, she says, wouldn’t be possible without the support of the university and her lecturers. “I definitely think there’s been
plenty of platforms provided for creating change.”
Once her dissertation is completed, Nathalie would like to run in the Students’ Union elections and continue giving back to a university she
describes as “engaging, diverse and joyful.”
And her advice for prospective and current students? “Get involved! Especially in student groups, sports teams, societies… it’s the easiest way to get to know more people and expanding what you do.”
