The Programme Approval Committee (PAC) is responsible for academic portfolio planning and development including the approval of new programmes and the suspension or discontinuation of existing programmes on behalf of the Academic Council.

The Academic Planning Committee (APC) and the Approval Review Group were merged to form the Programme Approval Committee (PAC) with effect from August 2019.

The Programme Approval Committee (PAC) will identify the likely resource requirements of new programmes and will promote dialogue between academic and professional services to develop viable, market-informed programmes that are aligned with University and Faculty strategic plans.

PAC will also consider the outcomes of all programme approval events and recommend, where appropriate, that conditions of approval have been met and can be signed off.

The Committee oversees the work of the Partnership Strategy Group (PSG), which has delegated authority from PAC to approve new academic partnerships (home and international) and the expansion, suspension and discontinuation of partnerships.
