Led by Gianina Harvey-Brewin (Associate Director, Employability & Apprenticeships), around 500 students, business partners and Alumni came together in the beautiful Greenwich campus chapel to celebrate their Career Mentoring achievements for the 2021/ 2022 academic year.
Career Mentoring is a crucial and integral part of the University student employability strategy and we work very closely with our industry partners and Alumni to ensure a strong base of support for the various career and entrepreneur-led mentoring programmes.
And this year, combined, these programmes delivered a record number of 1,000 one-to-one pairings which equated to around 6,000 hours of personal mentoring given to our students.
This personal ‘touch’ is what makes the real difference and helps our students improve their personal and business confidence and able to successfully navigate their way from education into industry or starting up their own business.
“These are very challenging times for students and everyone has worked incredibly hard to drive these mentoring programmes and provide the right support. On behalf of the University, I’d like to say a massive thank you to all those involved, especially our business partners and alumni. Above all though, to our students who have realised the value of mentoring and grabbed this opportunity with both hands!” - Gianina Harvey-Brewin
