Our partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) means that if you're a student on one of the courses listed below you should - provided you do not fall into one of the groups ineligible for these benefits - be entitled to the following:
- On successful completion of all your degree, you’ll automatically become* a Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) - a status demonstrating a high level of management and leadership expertise. CMI is the only professional body within the UK which can award fCMgr, and a springboard to full Chartered Manager (CMgr) status.
- When you successfully complete your degree, you’ll automatically gain a CMI Level 5 qualification (see below for details of whether this is the Diploma or Certificate) in Management and Leadership* - a professional, industry-recognised, qualification in itself.
- While you’re a student, you’ll be a student member of CMI*. This entitles you to be part of CMI's management and leadership community - something which gives you access to events and networking, thought leadership, mentoring, mental health support, a career development centre, and ‘Management Direct’ - CMI's online library with over 30,000 pieces of content.

- Students who undertake a Study Abroad year will NOT be eligible for the CMI accreditation. While studying abroad remains a valuable and enriching opportunity, it is important to understand that this option will affect your eligibility for professional accreditation.
- Direct Entrants - those joining a degree in Year 2 or Year 3 - may NOT be eligible for these benefits shown on this page. If you are considering direct entry to one of the degrees listed above, please seek advice from the Programme Leader, before applying, as to which CMI benefits would be available to you as a direct entry student.
