I am forever grateful to Greenwich for the invaluable experience they provided me with

Charlotte graduated from our BA Hons Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) course and now is working as a full-time class teacher at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Bexleyheath.

"My experience at Greenwich was nothing but amazing - I cannot fault it at all." says Charlotte. "The staff were amazingly supportive, both academically and personally. I still keep in touch with some of my lecturers now. The relationships I built with my cohort at university was something to treasure. I loved the debates we used to have in our seminars and the learning about my specialist subject."

Placements are usually considered the most chellenging part of the course. For Charlotte, her placements were a mixture of good and bad, but she took all of them as a learning curve and it really highlighted the type of school she wanted to work in. Her mentors in both placements were a great support and let her experiment with her teaching style. She also participated in school trips. Now she has a job at one of her placement schools!

Charlotte currently works as a full-time class teacher at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Bexleyheath, teaching one of their Reception classes. "Putting what I have learnt at uni, into practise has been very interesting and I look forward to continuing to improve my practise as the years continue. I am also currently studying for my CCRS qualification so that eventually I can become SLT in a Catholic school."

Charlotte had a big group of friends at uni - "It was nice to build relationships with people who essentially were going through the same thing as I was, the stress of writing assignments and being on placement, and we all used it to chat about these things during lunch breaks. My friends were all from a mixture of backgrounds, some people living at home whilst others living at university; a variety of ages and different experiences. Although my close group of friends weren't necessarily in all of my seminars, everyone was friendly and we all supported each other through presentations and assignments as well as everyday life as a student."

We are pleased to learn that Charlotte would recommend the BA Hons Primary Education with QTS course -  "Coming from one university and seeing how it is done there, to another place where everyone is so friendly, engaging and supportive - it really does highlight how it should be done. I am FOREVER grateful to Greenwich for the invaluable experience they provided me with throughout my three years and I would love for other people to experience it too."
