Hollie is studying on the Early Years course and is hoping to graduate with a BA Hons Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).

"I chose the University of Greenwich as I felt that it gave a more personal approach to learning. Upon meeting lecturers for the first time, I got the sense that they all wanted to get to know their students, so they didn't feel like 'just another number', which was a nice change. I felt a wealth of support behind me at Greenwich which I just didn't get anywhere else".

During her course, Hollie was pleasantly surprised by how welcome she was made to feel. "I didn't realise how many like-minded people would be on my course. It helped to create an engaging work environment where I am happy to say I found friends for life".

The course is based at the iconic Greenwich Campus featuring a number of scenic views, great transport links with the DLR only a couple of minutes away and some of London's most iconic attractions including the Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory.

So far Hollie has thoroughly enjoyed her course and she found one of the most rewarding parts to be her placement. "I have loved my placement and have gone from being a student (volunteering), to being offered a permanent teaching assistant role at an excellent school. I have most enjoyed being able to bring the experience and knowledge gained into our sessions and it really highlighted to me, the importance of learning, not just in the classroom, but outside it too".

Hollie aims to be a nursery schoolteacher when she graduates and hopes to take what she has learned from her time at University of Greenwich so that she can really make a difference. "I hope to be able to pass on as much knowledge, care and enthusiasm into my teaching as the lecturers have to me and my peers and I cannot wait to start!".
