We’d definitely consider taking on another apprentice through the University of Greenwich!

Liese Dallarda is Team Manager for Bexley ICMP and tells us about working with Gemma Duffy who is a Mental Health Nursing BSc Degree Apprentice at the University of Greenwich.

“I have known Gemma since she was 16 years old in her previous roles at Bexley. Since undertaking the Mental Health Nursing Apprenticeship role she has grown in confidence, and her knowledge and skills have improved.”

“We regularly take students on our team, but Gemma is without doubt the most enthusiastic student we have had. Her thirst for knowledge is immense. Her ability to form therapeutic relationships with service users is frequently commented on and she regularly receives compliments from clients, carers, and her colleagues.”

“Gemma is keen to learn new things, she is not afraid to question and regularly contributes to team discussions. She has been an asset to Intensive Case Management for Psychosis (ICMP) and her contributions to the Team during the pandemic led to her to winning the Oxleas Trust Governors Award. Gemma has been extremely organised and focused and manages the balance of study and work well.”

“The University of Greenwich, particularly Alice Neal, has been very supportive and accessible when needed and responds promptly to queries or requests for advice.”

“We’d definitely consider taking on another apprentice through the University of Greenwich!”
