A win for Greenwich at the Charlton v Homophobia tournament Articles

On Sunday 7 May a team from the university lined up to defend their title in the second Charlton v Homophobia football tournament. The tournament was hosted by Charlton's Community Trust in association with the Proud Valiants at The Valley.

This year the tournament saw four teams, the Proud Valiants, Bexley Invicta and Fans For Diversity as well as our university team competing for the title, and it's hoped that each year the tournament will get bigger.

Our university team won two of their three games and were able to retain the title they won last year. Our team was managed by Paul Butler, Director of Information and Library Services and he said " it was a great afternoon, with a great standard of football. The Valley is a big pitch and it's great to have the opportunity to play on such a surface and support such a worthwhile cause at the same time."

Congratulations and well done!
